The best BDR Bike - Suzuki DR650!

Post by parker » Tue Jul 18, 2017 10:54 pm

I've done three BDRs with my '96 Suzuki DR650 and love it. I don't think I have ever had a siginificant issue with it. Probably the worst thing to happen was the handlebar bolts being bent when I had a little fall.

Most of my group rides the F800 and I have to admit they are pretty incredible bikes. But man oh man are they expensive both to buy, and to fix. I love my DR650 because it allows me to focus more on the ride and experience, and not worry about breaking something.

(extra points if you can tell me which BDR this picture is from)

Hmmm, the photo has that Arizona look and feel.

I agree on the DR650. I own a 2007 with Acerbis tank, after market seat, TM 40 carb and Leo Vinci exhaust and new bars with risers, small windshield, etc. I bought it used in 2008 (when I " returned" to bikes) from a young fella going through a divorce. It was for sale right next to the tanning bed! Ha!

You cannot get any simpler than the DR650. With some mods, it will take you and your gear comfortably around the world! They are great bikes!
